Affirming Community
Foothills Mennonite Church is a welcoming and inclusive community, seeking to follow the biblical mandate to “do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8).
Foothills Mennonite Church is a Christian community in the Anabaptist/Mennonite tradition. Our church is part of a diverse collection of churches associated through Mennonite Church Alberta, Mennonite Church Canada and Mennonite World Conference.
Foothills Mennonite Church is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the life of our church. We are all made in the image of God—worthy of dignity, honour, respect and belonging. We seek to serve one another and our community in a manner that reflects these core values.
Foothills Mennonite Church welcomes all people to fully participate in the life of the church, regardless of race, ethnic background, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, income, education, ability, or other factors that give rise to discrimination and marginalization.
Foothills Mennonite Church invites all those who confess faith in Jesus Christ, and who have been baptized, into membership in the church.
Foothills Mennonite Church is committed to the transformative and ongoing work of loving God, loving our neighbours and being a community of peace and reconciliation in the world. We acknowledge that we fall short along this journey. We repent of the harm we inflict and pursue healing in our relationships.
