Worship Times

Between the second weekend in September and early June we have our regular schedule: Sunday School (children and adults) or Coffee Fellowship at 9:30am with our worship service, in-person or online, at 10:30am. Please email the church office (office@foothillsmennonite.ca) to introduce yourself and receive the link to our service or join us in person in our sanctuary. We look forward to worshipping with you!

Please note there is no Sunday School on long weekends (Labour Day, Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day, Family Day, Easter, and Victoria Day), over the Christmas break, and during summer (early June to September).

During the summer months (early June to early September) we share a coffee/juice and snack time following the worship service.

What to Expect

We’re so glad you’ve decided to visit us!

Sometimes it’s hard to know what to expect when going to a new church. Here are some simple things about Foothills Mennonite Church that might help.

 

Our address is 2115 Urbana Rd NW, Calgary, AB T2N 4B9

We are located just off 16th Ave NW between the Foothills Medical Center and the University of Calgary.

By bus: Routes - 20, 303, 31, 40, 9, 90

By train: Banff Trail station on the Red Line (201)

Building a sense of connectedness and community is a priority for us at Foothills as we seek to be an active part of God’s work in the world. There is a wide range of people who have an affiliation with our church. Please introduce yourself if you are comfortable with that. We look forward to meeting you.  If you are interested in small groups, we have lots of them ranging from Bible/Book Studies to walking groups, to service groups and more.

The Sunday School program runs from mid-September to early June.  The Sunday School time is from 9:30-10:15am.

  • The preschool to grade six and adult classes meet upstairs (follow the signs)
  • The grade 7-12 class meets in the office wing just off the main foyer (the hallway starts by the coat racks)

At Foothills we value an inter-generational approach to worship. We like to involve our children and youth in our worship service, and every Sunday we have a children’s feature.  Our musical styles range from folk/contemporary to hymns, new and old. Preaching is also a central part of our worship service with messages to encourage and challenge. We celebrate communion once a month.  Most of our worship services are about an hour in length.

We want you to be comfortable, whether it's business casual or jeans and a t-shirt.

Please come as you are!

We gather for worship in our sanctuary on Sunday mornings at 10:30am. You will enter through front doors into a bustling lobby with coat racks to the left, washrooms straight ahead, and our sanctuary to the right. Arrive a few minutes early and look for some friendly folks handing out the Order of Service. We look forward to having you join us!

We have a parking lot as well as plenty of street parking. Please be careful not to block driveways in the neighbourhood.
